Fall

Fall the well-tempered child...going with the flow.

Never boiling over like Summer.

Never turning frigid like Winter.

Never indecisive like its distant cousin Spring.

Fall the middle child that handles change like a pro,

That doesn’t get upset when all the attention is on Summer and its brightness

or when Winter causes an uproar with scarcity and closures.

Even when cousin Spring just comes to laugh and play with flowers,

Fall sits back and watches hour by hour.

This seasonal family holds much power.

Fall is relaxed like a cool breeze with a hint of warmth,

until Winter starts to bully its way through.

Fall stands its ground and drops leaves like tears until it’s time to let go,

until another year, another time, another peaceful Autumn to quietly shine.
